We’re psyched that it’s March! (high fives all around!) And March vibes always make us think about Spring and new beginnings. Which leads us to thinking about fresh starts and being mindful of our habits. So we thought it would be fun to share a Sewing Room Habit Tracker to help with your sewing room goals.
What is a Habit Tracker?
In case you’re not familiar with it, a habit tracker is a nifty chart that makes it easy to keep track of when you are doing (or not doing) certain habits! You simply check off the days that you perform the particular habit so that you have a visual record of your behavior. It serves to motivate (wanting to check off all the boxes) and promote mindfulness to identify the habits you enjoy and avoid.
How can a Habit Tracker help me?
We tend to think we do things more often (or a lot less) than we actually do. It’s hard to understand how our sewing rooms can go from organized to chaotic so quickly! By having a written reminder of the tasks that can keep our sewing rooms tidy, we’ll be able to keep track of the last time we did them, which will help us to maintain your sewing room goals!
Not only that, a habit tracker can help us to understand which tasks we tend to avoid, and help us to make better decisions for getting things done. For example, if I notice that I never want to refold fabric (#truth), but it is resulting in my sewing room feeling cluttered and chaotic (#moretruth), I can use this information to try to change things. I can set a timer, throw on music, and say that as soon as the timer goes off — I can stop folding. It’s a way to identify a habit that is keeping me from getting where I want to be, and come up with ideas to change that behavior.

We’ve created a tracker to help with the day-to-day tasks that keep a sewing room organized and under control: cleaning off your cutting table, putting away fabric, cleaning up scraps and cuttings, and we’ve even added drinking water — because let’s be honest — shouldn’t we all be drinking a little more water each day? So download it, print it out, and hang it on your wall! We’re excited to cultivate positive habits with you!
